No Longer Jobless in Vienna

I started my first day as a product manager at bwin, a huge online gaming company in Vienna. I think this is going to be a great place to work.

I just want to say thank you to all of the people who were so wonderfully supportive when I was jobless. I want to give back a  bit now. If you are an English speaker looking for a job in Vienna, post a comment requesting the list of companies that I gathered that operate in English. At the very least it will be a start to your job search. Unfortunately, I cannot answer any Visa questions, because I myself am an Austrian citizen.

Congrats! I am a student, but definitely looking for anything that might pay some bills/buy some books! Great way to pay it forward, good karma to you!

Glad to hear the good news!!! ^_^ It gives hope to the rest of us job-seekers. :o ) I will very soon be moving to Austria (on account of the DH needing to be there for a number of years), and given that my German is spotty, I would absolutely love to check out the list you mention. Many thanks for your generosity!!!

    Hi Britta,
I think I might get the title of newest American in Vienna. 20 days here so far! I am married to a Bosnian but we didn’t like there so we are checking out Austria. He had lots of family here! I speak almost no German but learn quickly. I know Spanish and Bosnian. I would love it if you could share your list with me. I want to get a jump start since I have heard over and over how hard it is to get a job here. Thank goodness for people like you who share their experiences. Austria and North Dakota are too darn similar so far!

    Hi,

I just found your blog and I love it! You are a splendid writer, and I am glad to hear that you are finding success in Vienna.

I, too, would love to see your list of English-speaking companies in Vienna, since I’m planning to move there with my Austrian fiancé once I’m done with my Bachelors degree here in the US.

    Thanks!
