Having the courage to be an expat has opened me up to being couragous in other aspects of my life as well. My husband and I have started our own business.
Taschenhalter
Taschenhalter is quite literal. It means purse hook. It keeps a woman’s handbag from being placed on the dirty floor of a restaurant or coffeehouse.
I love my purses. Whenever Paul and I would go out to eat, I was always fussing with where to place my purse. It usually got wedged between me and my seat, forcing me to sit uncomfortably. Necessity is the instigator of many things, hence our business.
Tell all your friends about it!

Congratulations on your new business Britta! Keep me posted I would love to hear how it’s going.
Thanks Robert. Will do!
I’ve seen these before, both in Vienna and in Geneva (both with “faces” with their own design and ones that you can customize with a pic). I get that you’re way ahead (marketing wise) of the Viennese, but know you’re not alone with these on the European market.
Hi Sandra,
Thanks for the heads up, but I am aware of my competition. I’m a business person through and through and scoped the cempetitive landscape before going into business. Conducted surveys to figure out what a proper price point is, and discovered our competitive advantage (we’re cheaper than our competition while still delivering quality).
Hi Britta,
I saw you on Househunters International. Great place to plug your product.
How do I look into ordering one? The only link I see is in German (?). Do you have any information in English? Is it even possible to order a purse holder from you and still remain at a reasonable price?
Thanks!
Just saw your episode of House Hunters International. Great plug for your business! Good luck and hope your living abroad is going well!
Thanks Katie
Hope you’re doing well while living abroad. Have you developed an accent yet?
Just saw you on House Hunter’s International! Congratulations on everything. Vienna looks lovely; I must visit someday soon. I loved the Burberry printed purse hook I
saw at the very end of the show. Stuck in the States. Where can I buy it?
Brita!
You live in Vienna! I just saw you on HHI. Right when I heard your voice I knew that it was you. It’s been so long. Good luck with your adventure and your business. It’s a great idea. Look me up on fb.
