Hi Britta!
I tried to send you a private message but the SPAM questions didn't work.

My name is Sami and I'm a casting producer for a brand new HGTV design series profiling American Expats around the world. We're currently looking for American homeowners or renters in the Vienna area who live in beautiful homes and want to showcase their properties on HGTV.

I'd love to get in touch with you about the opportunity and for some advice about casting in Vienna--I'm all the way over in Denver so it's kinda tricky! Email me whenever you get the chance at shartman@highnoontv.com and I'll send along a copy of our press release for you to forward along to everyone you know! Thank you so much for your help and I look forward to hearing from you!

Best,
Sami

Hi Britta-

I hope you had a happy and healthy New Year's and have hopped off to a fast start in "The Year of the Rabbit" (2011)!

At Expat Arrivals.com we decided to minimize the grumble that most people can't help but avoid when getting back to the grind by rewarding some of our favourite expat bloggers with an accolade long overdue. We spent a good deal of time collecting, evaluating and ultimately choosing which sites were worthy of award, and now I have the pleasure of offering you our highest honor - the 2011 Expat Arrivals Elite Blogger Award.

To accept this award all you need to do is upload our uniquely designed image onto your home pace and link back to Expat Arrivals.

In the following weeks we'll be releasing a list of winners and the criteria we used to select our top choices. If you'd be up for it, I'd love to have you answer a question or two about your blog and the creative process behind the product. I'll be incorporating responses into an article or two.

I look forward to hearing from you so I can send through the image, thanks for your time and consideration.

Best-
Stephanie

Hi , Britta--

My wife and I are considering a possible move to Vienna in the next few years from the Mid-Atlantic coast of the US. One thing we wonder about is whether our "kids" --two golden retrievers-- will have many places to swim. I realize this might be a strange thing to focus on, but we know it is important for our dogs. Are there many opportunities to swim outside in the Vienna area in the summer? Do people actually swim in the Danube or one of the nearby canals?

Thanks for your patience in advance with this one!

Regards,

Hallo Britta,

I stumbled upon your blog via transitionsabroad.com. I have since read several of your blog entries and found them informative and humorous.

I am an American, born and raised in Los Angeles. I met my wife, Mariella, in Vienna in 2004. She has since moved to Los Angeles and we have been married for almost 5 years. We also have a 16 month old daughter, Emily.

We are planning to move to Austria sometime next year. I travel very often for business and Mariella misses her family. We will most likely live in Klagenfurt, Kärnten near her father where she spent most of her early life.

I would be very interested in corresponding with you and learning about what steps you took to actually make your move to Austria.

Liebe Grüße,
Adam
